Aleksander Belov

Aleksander Belov is a certified bodywork practitioner and a software engineer. He built HoldSpace out of his own practice.

Aleksander Belov trained for about a year with a London school and certified as a bodywork practitioner. The work was one to one and slow: sessions built around what the body holds — tension, emotion that never found a way out — and around giving it a way out. The aim was never a technique but the change you could see by the end: slower breath, a face that had let go, a person who walked out lighter than they came in. Every session began with a written consent form: what the client wanted, what they did not, what they were carrying.

The care in the room had no counterpart on paper. Bookings came by word of mouth, consent forms and feedback ended up in different places, and notes took long enough to write that they did not always get written in full. By a client's third or fourth visit, some of the thread — what was tried, what came up, where the two of you were heading — had to be pieced back together before the door opened.

His other profession is software, and he built HoldSpace out of exactly that gap.
